Tucson wants county to take over city-county library system

From the Oct. 18 Inside Tucson Business: Currently, the Pima Tucson Library system is 50% funded by the city of Tucson’s general fund and 50% by a county-wide library district tax. Since this translates into city residents paying a larger share than other county residents, and because the city needs extra money to pay for fire and police, the city proposes handing over all control of the library–including funding and staffing–to Pima county.
