Walters named Rice’s new vice provost and university librarian

Tyler Walters views libraries in the 21st century as a nexus where people, information technology and knowledge are brought together, but the users are challenged by the many different formats in which information is communicated.

“We’re in a field that is experiencing great change,” said Walters, who will become Rice’s new vice provost and university librarian Oct. 15. “University librarians have to continue to adapt and change how we perform our work internally so we can serve the faculty and students the best we can.”
