Validity of Wisconsin library pact questioned

Blake writes “Sounds like Mead Wisconsin Public Library director Sharon Winkle is having a heck of a first month at work. The League of Wisconsin Municipalities has issued a legal opinion saying the contract the library board approved for Winkle is invalid.
Shortly after the library board approved, 6-4, the original contract for Winkle, the Sheboygan County Taxpayers Alliance alleged the employment agreement was illegal since other city department heads do not have contracts to work for the city and called for the resignation or removal of the six library board members who voted to approve it.

Winkle’s contract has been amended twice by the library board.”
