Some Good News from New Mexico: Fire damage at the University of New Mexico Zimmerman Library sunday night is not as extensive as was originally thought.
Still, the library won’t be opening anytime soon, according to university officials who toured the library Tuesday afternoon.
An unknown number of periodicals shelved in the basement—some dating back to the 1800s—were lost in the fire which broke out about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. About 50 students and staff fled the building; no injuries were reported.
