Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde has called for extending the benefits of liberal education to the downtrodden and marginalised people living in villages.
Addressing the valedictory function of the 17th Vijayawada Book Festival at the Swaraj Maidan here on Thursday, he called for setting up of more libraries in rural areas to encourage reading habit among the rural folk.
