University Librarians Offer Perplexed Students “Research Rescue”

Last semester librarians at Brigham Young University instituted “Research Rescue”, specifically targeted at those lost-looking students struggling with end-of-term papers and projects. Despite wearing bright red Rescue tee-shirts and adorning the library with posters that read “go ahead and ask”, reference assistant Rachel Hatch says the students are fearful of “asking dumb questions”, and that there hasn’t been a noticeable increase in the number of students requesting help.
