If you live in Braintree, Holbrook or Randolph MA (suburbs of Boston) you have at least two activities to choose from tonight…one of them is rooting for the famously unlucky Red Sox, or watching the debate between Incumbent Joseph Driscoll (Democrat) and Charles Kokoros (Republican challenger) at the Thayer Public Library at 7:00 pm in Braintree. Both are seeking a place in the Massachusetts State Legislature.
Sounds like there is more than one curse to break…the well-known Curse of the Bambino, or (to Republican Senator Mitt Romney), the Curse of the Democrats. Democrats outnumber Republicans by margins of 135-23 in the House and 33-7 in the Senate. The Governor is hoping next month to win enough seats in the Legislature-one-third of either chamber-to sustain a veto. Town Online .
hardly a choice…
Game starts at 8. You could watch the debate and still be home in time to see the majority of the game.
The way these games have been going you could drive into Boston have a late supper and still have plenty of time to catch the cliffhanger finale (9? 10? 15? innings).
I’ll be watching ABC’s Lost myself and then reading.
