The Washington Post has a Nice Profile of Edith Davis, kiosk manager of The public library near a busy intersection in Northeast Washington, DC.
Davis officially retired yesterday, after having worked for the D.C. Public Library system since 1986. “It’s time,” she said, “to move on.”
Her reasons were more personal than professional. Davis said she is moving from the District to Hampton, Va., to spend more time with family after the death last year of her husband of 41 years.
