Anonymous Patron writes “The Morning Journal From Ohio reports After being asked to leave Avon Lake Public Library property by police while circulating a petition, two groups have filed a lawsuit against the library in federal court.
According to the Avon Lake Public Library Guidelines for Patron Conduct, ”Members of the public may not circulate petitions, offer items for sale, or otherwise make solicitations of library staff or library patrons, except as may be approved by the Board of Trustees. The bulletin board in the lobby may be used for library, public service and non-profit advertisements and announcements only. Personal advertisements will not be posted.”
