NYT story about textbooks on the iPhone.
Apple uses a tagline in its iPhone commercials — “There’s an app for that”— to convey the idea that its phone is adaptable to almost any purpose. But an app that makes the double-page spread in a printed textbook easily readable on the iPhone? There’s no app for that.
So?
Write one ‘yourself’, or ask someone to write one in one of the many Mac forums that are around.
I’m sure if someone proves there is actually a demand for such an app someone will create one.
That’s the thing about the app store, you see a gap and you can fill it yourself (assuming you know how!)
I personally wouldn’t attempt to bother with textbooks on iphones really, not to be used as textbooks as it were. To check things out later yes bit by bit but not for reading actual textbooks. It’s simply not big enough. But then no phone is, and many of the ebook readers aren’t exactly big enough either. You can’t expect everything to work on every format.
Theres a lot of things that theres no app’s for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k3zvI2tyPM
