I don’t know how we missed This One. Sen. Ted Kennedy, and his Portuguese Water Dog, Splash, his co-protagonist in “My Senator and Me: A Dogs-Eye View of Washington, D.C.”
Scholastic Inc. will release the book in May.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to create a book for young readers and their families that will deepen their understanding of how our American government works,” Kennedy said in a statement Monday issued by Scholastic.
what happened to 32 pages?
And notice it’s 56 pages long! How did the publisher agree to that? I mean, picture book, 32 page hard limit, no matter what.

I do have picture books in my collection that are over 32 pgs long. I didn’t realise there was a limit.

Yep, 32 is generally the limit. It has to do with the binding process – and how long kids will sit! Clearly however, this is what we would call in our library, an “advanced” picture book. This does not, please note, refer to the quality of the book. Just the length and age level.

He’s a senator. I’m truly surprised that it wasn’t about 300 pages longer. And have headings like Chapter 302.1 Subsection (a)-4: Splash Files a Supplemental Section 6 Kibble Request Authorization.
