Pressing On

The Lynchburg News & Advance takes a look at publishing.
They say twenty years ago, the options were relatively limited. You could try to sell your work to one of the larger publishing houses, most of them based in New York. You could come up with enough money to be printed by a “vanity press.” You could visit the copy store on the corner. More likely, you would simply forget the whole thing.

Given this discouraging situation, then, why is it that so many people seem to be writing books these days? As with a lot of human endeavors in the late 20th and infant 21st centuries, that’s a question with a two-word answer: The Internet.
