iBookwatch.com, site that shows top 10,000 selling books at Amazon.

I came across a website called iBookWatch.com that shows the top 10,000 bestselling books at Amazon. Amazon shows the top 100 but it is difficult to see a complete list of sales ranks after that. If you want to know what the 1000th bestselling book is you can look that up. (Last time I checked it was “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu) You can also run a search by author or publisher. For example if you search for Friedman, as in Thomas Friedman, you see that he has books at numbers 3, 272, 1352, 2101. Number 3 is his book “The World is Flat”, 272 is “Lexus and the Olive Tree” and 1352 is the paperback edition of “The World is Flat”. You can enter the name of a publisher and see what rankings their books have.

    I think this is useful for all public librarians. I think that public librarians should browse through the top 300 books to see what is selling. I think librarians may be suprised with what books are selling outside of the top 100.
