New eBooks Program at San Jose Public Library

Wordy1 writes The Mercury News reports: Although not the first to offer this service, the San Jose Public Library system is an early adopter of a new digital library that lets Silicon Valley residents check out and download electronic books (eBooks) online. It works wherever there’s Internet access. If you have a San Jose library card, you’re allowed to download as many as 10 Ebooks . And if a title you’re looking for has a waiting list, the library can e-mail you a notice when it’s available for checkout. Patrons can search or browse by categories. According to the library system’s press release, the site features an extensive collection of best-selling eBooks from popular authors and leading publishers.”
