MSFT Guy writes “Live Search’s WebLog Annouces the availability of in-copyright book content in the Beta version of Live Search Books!
Microsoft says it has permission to scan and display books from publishers like McGraw-Hill, MIT Press, Oxford University Press, Simon & Schuster and more.
Rather than presenting users with summary information as Google does with copyrighted works, Microsoft will offer actual content previews where it has permission to do so.”

    There are some interesting aspects to this expansion of Live Book Search–but, you know, Google Book Search offers actual content previews from in-copyright books provided by publishers, where it has permission to do so, and always has…

    This particular distinction isn’t.
