Library donations ‘heartwarming’

Anonymous Patron writes “How ’bout some positive public library news for a change? The Everett Public Library in Washington, set the lofty goal of finding 20 donations of $50,000 before the decade is out.

The resulting $1 million endowment, director Mark Nesse said, would help the library afford the best books possible, thereby ensuring its vitality and relevance.

Three months into its Collections for Excellence campaign, and five years short of the 2010 goal, the library already has six donors in place, putting it $300,000 closer to the $1 million mark.”
