    Managers here say their filtering system is so strong that it blocks portions of even the most innocuous retail sites.

    “First Regional Library utilizes sophisticated filtering systems on its computers to block obscene content to the extent possible.” says Catherine Nathan, head of the First Regional Library System.

    But sources tell us Prince was in the library repeatedly, and may have been testing the system looking for weaknesses before getting caught red handed by other users.

    Was he merely testing the filter?

    On a separate issue, you know I watch library crime news. This particular story about a religious leader “getting caught red handed” seems to me to be getting a huge amount of attention. Way, way more than I usually see. Could it be because of media bias against those of his religion? I do not remember this much coverage when the ACLU state president was caught red-handed abusing children.

      This is not media bias. This is a human bias. People like to hear about hypocrites.

      Here is another story about the case:

      It has this excerpt: “The case may be resolved prior to indictment, and we don’t foresee a trial,” Little said. “My thoughts after having talked to the reverend, and depending on the evidence that comes out, that he is not of a mindset right now where he wishes to fight.”

      If he was just trying some test of the filters to supposedly help the public I don’t think he would be pleading guilty.

    Why child porn?
    Child porn is not something you find easily. If you where just testing the filters you would be looking up normal legal porn. He had to have already been knowledgeable in how to get child porn and was most likely using the library computers so it couldn’t be traced back to him.

I also test filters in libraries from time to time. I just look for simple “legal” sites like Playboy.com or go a Google search for milf or something. I never have the nerve to sit there and give it a thorough testing.
