Key player in Clinton library discusses perks of being a presidential site

James L. “Skip” Rutherford, a key player in bringing Bill Clinton’s presidential library to Little Rock, Ark., spoke Wednesday to Baylor University administrators, faculty and students as well as community members about the impact such a library can have on a city.

Rutherford is chairman of the board of directors for the William J. Clinton Foundation and is a former administrative assistant for U.S. Sen. David Pryor, D-Ariz.. Rutherford said the Clinton library has had a major impact on Little Rock, drawing about 500,000 visitors its first year, an impact Baylor officials would love to see duplicated in Waco.
