John Wiley & Sons Inc. Announce Recall of “Candle and Soap Making For Dummies” Instruction Book

Gary D. Price, MLIS spotted an Interesting Recall Notice from John Wiley & Sons.

They are recalling the Candle and Soap Making For Dummies Book.

It says the instructions in the book for making lye combine sodium hydroxide and water in an incorrect order. This could cause the mixture to bubble over, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

    When one sees a recall by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for a book, I’d figure that it was recalled because it was too heavy and toes were getting crushed…
