The Malaysia Star – Malaysia asks Is the process of learning and research being hindered by poorly maintained libraries? They “check out” how local libraries cater for the information age.
“Libraries are evolving very fast and we must keep up with the times. We can’t afford to be complacent – we must always improve our services. The librarian’s role, therefore, has to change to accommodate this new trend of searching information.”
Libraries have to be more adaptable
Libraries are poor in adapting to new ideas and new trends to existing systems. Libraries have difficult time in acknowledging that libraries are no longer the only information providers. Libraries have to be more proactive to make libraries more relevant and appealing.
