The Googlemoeba has extruded yet another pseudopod.
After a few months of uploading by Google users, Google Video is now available, featuring homegrown clips, news footage, even your favorite TV shows. It is, of course, searchable, but as yet, nobody has uploaded anything on my pet subject. Interestingly, playing any of the videos appears to require the installation of a viewer capable of showing the proprietary format.

How enervating
It looks like a PBS archive with a few boring home movies thrown in. ZZZZZZ
Wake me when they come up with foreign films.
Re:How enervating
A PBS archive without any actual video in it, all the ones I was trying just came up with tv station info that had no actual video. Whats the point of putting that in?
I think the fact that they want to have a tight rein on things means it’s not going to be as good as most people would like, mainly to stop it simly being full of porn but it needs a lot more on there.
The video viewer is good in that it’s fast and doesn’t conflict etc but I want to be able to save these files, that’s half the fun.
