People to People, the organization that arranges for student and other types of foreign exchange programs is planning to send a delegation of Bentonville (AR) librarians to China.
The trip gives American and Chinese librarians a chance to interact and discuss how they are updating services to handle new technology, such as the Internet. They will also explore whether fund-raising activities by American libraries could be replicated in China.
From China, the American librarians would learn how China is preserving its rich history, according to a letter librarian Debra Hobbs received from the organization. Along with the educational aspects, librarians will be able to do some sightseeing. Story here .
