    For your elucidation
    You can also check out my List of Banned or Challenged Books. It was last updated on 15 Apr 2006 and is up to 1,822 titles. This is just a raw list, however, and sorted alphabetically by title only. I had been toying with the idea of putting titles, dates, and locales and rationales into a database (MSAcess), but at this point it would be too much work. And some titles are challenged in several places over the course of single year.

    More ALA nonsense
    There are no banned books in the US. Banned books week promoted by the ALA is simply nonsense. It is like trying to get people into the library by offering peep shows.

    Sure there are books that should not be in some libraries. The Joy of Sex probably does not belong in an elementary school. However The Little Engine That Could does not find itself on many Medical Library shelves. It is all a matter of context.

    Not that there are not books banned other places, heck remember Cuba that island south of us (Apparently the ALA has forgotten about it.). They ban books and imprison librarians. Want to make a list of books the Godless Communists ban, sharpen your pencils because it is going to be a long one.
