this story from the Houston Free Press, about the Reverend G. Todd Williams who wants to hold a “stink in” in response to a new anti-odor ordinance in Montrose (TX). “This is an ordinance about hate,” Williams says. “And it’s got the seal of approval by the city on it.”

    Little Old Ladies
    One odor problem that I wonder if they are addressing is the little old lady with too much perfume. Recently I had to sit next to one of these at the symphony and my eyes were burning and watering the entire program. It would be interesting to see if the homeless are treated different then these people.

    Another problem is when the library places flowers around the facility. Lilys, and magnola give me a headache in a short time. My wife reacts the same to paper whites. Do the rules address this?

    I have problems with some staff (men and women) wearing lots of heavy fragrances and some whose personal hygiene leaves something to be desired…there are days when I want to install an shower and a sign “no entering library without showering first” like the public pools of my youth.

    Considering today’s heat index, I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all.
