Family Sues School District over Guilty Librarian

Anonymous Patron writes Kansas City Star: A Kansas City, Kan., family has sued the Piper School District, claiming their daughter’s rights to an education were violated by a librarian who pleaded guilty to sex-related charges.

The lawsuit, filed last week in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., claims that the girl’s rights were violated under Title IX of the federal Education Amendments Act of 1972, which prevents discrimination based on gender.

The family, who used initials instead of full names, claims the librarian created an intimidating, hostile, offensive and abusive school environment that denied the girl the opportunity to receive a proper education and educational experience.”
