Begun last summer by librarian Sue Schafer, at the Reynolds Corners branch library in Toledo Ohio.

The Paws to Read program offers a furry, wet-nosed alternative to flashcards and Hooked on Phonics. It pairs dogs from Maumee’s Canine MASH unit – that’s Magnificent Animals Serving Humans – with young readers from kindergarten to fourth grade.
