It’s a cookbook organized by the Dewey Decimal System…so cool! The Dubuque (IA) Public Library’s been working on the book over the past year, and it’s now available for purchase (makes a great holiday gift idea!!!).
This 281 page book of 374 recipes includes submissions from 23 states, Washington D.C., four countries, and from public, academic, school, and special libraries as well as businesses which support libraries (including In My Book®, our spinach quiche recipe’s in there).
In addition to being presented in Dewey Decimal order with Library of Congress Subject Headings,
there are hundreds of quotes throughout the book on what authors and writers
have had to say about food and cooking throughout history.

Hotel
There was the Hotel in New York that based its hotel on the Dewey Decimal System. OCLC sued and then settled with the hotel. I wonder if this library system paid their license fee to OCLC?
Dewey Hotel and Permission
About the time OCLC took on the hotel in NY for using Dewey without permission I began work on this cookbook. I did write OCLC and was given permission to use the Dewey Decimal system and name in the creation of this book. The letter noted it was a “clever idea”… I sent them a copy of the cookbook just today. It it my hope they still agree.
