County libraries begin ‘Answerland’ pilot project

“Twenty-one Oregon libraries have initiated a virtual reference pilot project called Answerland.”

“The Washington County Cooperative Library Service (WCCLS) is a partner in this new on-line live information service. Answerland is a cooperative effort staffed by Oregon’s academic, public and K-12 librarians, who are providing reference service to patrons on-line, using live chat and e-mail.”

“The service is available to residents throughout Oregon who have a computer and Internet access. For individuals without personal access to the Internet, either through home, school or work, they may come into the library to access the Answerland service from one of the library computers.” (from Oregon Live)
