Counter-inaugural reference kit

The folks at Radical Reference have assembled a useful schedule (warning: Excel) of inaugural and counter-inaugural events happening here in D.C., and a ready reference kit (Word doc.) as well. Both were put together to help the reference librarians helping out with the 1/20 protests.

    Radical reference and useful. I would not use those two in the same sentence. I asked a question of them on their site prior to the convention in NYC and they didn’t answer.

    The question concerned changes in the transit schedules in NYC but I guess they vetted the questioners and since I make no secret of being a “Librarian for Bush” and my email address of oneil.cx would make this readily apparent (at least to a librarian)

    So it seems to me that Radical Reference is only useful if you happen to share the same mindset as their memebers. Otherwise they toss your request to the wayside. Shameful behavior for librarians if you ask me.

    Actually, it seems to have more to do with whether someone has the answer and picks the
    question from the que (have a look at the list of pending questions on the site and you’ll see there are a number of left-leaning ones outstanding as well).

    Many people do not want to download onto a computer setup they are using.

    Regarding unanswered questions. Questions do not get posted. Censoring at the so called radical reference is rife.

    Actually, I have yet to see a question come across the list that has not been posted on
    the site. Yes, as previously noted, every question does not get answered – this is a function of manpower and know-how rather than politics, however, as an examination of the unanswered questions will show.

    There may be a few crank / wingnut queries that are filtered by the list admins., but left-leaning is not a requirement to get
    posted, as the Bush-supporting librarian’s query noted in the 1st comment shows.
