    While I love dual use….I am a bit concerned that the “public” aspect will put the kids at risk. A curtain to keep the public out of the schools gym classes? A shelf that is low enough that anyone who wanted to could just jump it or worse yet shoot over top of it?

    Speaking as a parent I want a SEPERATE school from the local community center and public library if only as one means to keep my kids safe from child predators. As a public librarian I have to constantly explain to parents who want to use us as a babysitting service that public means just that…PUBLIC. While I try my best to keep my youngest patrons safe the fact is that when we are open we are open to just about anyone who wants to come in and unlike a closed campus school media center we have no means of knowing just who might be a danger or who does not belong until AFTER the fact.
