The Toronto Star: Who is Inger Ash Wolfe? And why, to paraphrase Winston Churchill, has he or she chosen to wrap a mystery inside an enigma?
All we know for certain is that Inger Ash Wolfe is the pseudonymous author of The Calling, to be published next month in Canada by McClelland & Stewart and in the U.S. by Harcourt. An absorbing yarn that tracks the macabre exploits of a serial killer, it is the first book in a projected series of crime novels centred on the character of Hazel Micallef, a police detective in the fictional Ontario town of Port Dundas. The terse author note on the dust jacket identifies Inger Ash Wolfe as “the pseudonym of a well-known and well-regarded North American writer.”
