$10.6 million for Nixon records move in Bush’s budget

Contra Costa Times Reports President Bush’s budget plan would keep the Nixon library on track as it converts from a private to a public facility that will house the ex-president’s records.
Bush is asking for $10.6 million in 2007 for the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace in Yorba Linda, 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles. The money would help the National Archives and Records Administration build an addition to house Nixon’s records — including, eventually, the Watergate tapes — and pay for staff and operations.
