Fang-Face writes “There is an article in the 17 Dec issue of the Denver Post about Jeannine McAllister’s challenge to It’s Perfectly Normal. The library resolved to keep the book and Ms. McAllister is not happy about it. There is also a brief mention at the American Libraries Online which offers a different slant on her point of view. Enough of a slant to be suspicious of the article.
Just for the record, children experience an awakening of their sexual curiosity at about the point where they ask: where do babies come from? What the censors don’t take into account is that there is a difference between curious, knowledgeable, and experienced; and talking about sex is not engaging in sex. And “sexual passions”? In children? There’s a topic to research.”
