McCook’s Sanity Questioned By Librarians
What does it mean ethically for Dr. McCook to promote falsehoods about a worldwide war on terror and to turn the safety of her country over to international interests? That a pre-emptive war based on facts accepted by the UNited States COngress and the uNited Nations should be undermined by cowardly hysterics? That the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis by Hussein should make no difference? That a failed policy of empty resolutions, risky flyovers, and a corrupt oil-for-food program should be continued and the lessons of history be without consequence?

These realities are not about partisan politics. Rather we are concerned with deep ethical issues that transcend politics. Do we want McCook to continue to push the profession into a political direction as a personal indulgence and at the risk of damaging its already fragile credibility?

The so-called world wide war on terror is: 1) not a war, since war is a political relationship existing between one state and another, and given that the U.S. Congress, the only political body within the aggressor that can legally declare war has not declared war no such state exists; 2) not world wide; 3) fraudulent in itself since only elected assholes and their sycophants are too stupid to understand that you cannot make war on a sociological phenomenon; and as one person pointed out: Terrorism is not a state, it is a tactic; 4) a false front for the world’s most egregious promoter and practicioner of terrorism, the United States.

Your so-called pre-emptive war is an illegal war of aggression and even only a blind fool denies that it was based on a pack of lies from the get go.

And why are you still here instead of having gone to Iraq to do your own baby-killing? Different priorities? Waiting for the draft so you can follow the example of your yellowbelly president and dodge it?

And if the Library profession has a fragile credibility, it is more likely due to the ALA acting as a Stalinist-style apologist for the censorial and book-burner regime of Uncle Fidel.
