This librarian’s life isn’t by the book at ‘All’

A librarian memoir by Don Borchert, who says “The library can be the “dullest place in the world — 91% of the time”. His book is titled, “Free for All: Oddballs, Geeks, and Gangstas in the Public Library”–(like the double entendre?) published by Virgin, $21.95, and aims to do for libraries what Bel Kaufman’s Up the Down Staircase did for urban schools in 1965 or what Bill Buford’s Heat did for professional cooks in 2006. Here’s the review from USA Today and here’s one from the SF Gate.
