This Illiterate Brazilian’s Home Speaks Volumes

The latimes.com has this uplifting story from Sunday about a nearly illiterate man in Brazil who turned his home into a public library starting with just 6 items he collected. The collection now has 10,000 volumes!

What he has accomplished really is amazing, considering, “Brazilians are handicapped by lack of access. Government officials say that nearly 1,000 of the country’s 5,500 municipalities have no public library. Buying a book is even less of an option.”
