    Reading a Date’s Library
    When I was younger and single, every time I went by her house to pick up a date, I would scan her bookshelves to see what she was reading and what she had read. I also checked out which books were worn and well read, and which ones were on her bookshelf in pristine condition, and both unopened and unread. This gave me a great deal of information about the kind of woman she was.

    The one time I was in for a shock was when I dated a woman who had no bookshelves in her apartment at all. Not even any magazines in the little room that hath no windows. She was not a reader. That relationship didn’t last very long, although she was very cute.
