We’ve added the link
We hadn’t been alerted to the Librarians for Palin blog. We’ve added it as a link.Norman Oder/Library Journal
Nothing for LISNews and its podcast?
How often have we talked about such here? Heck, even the audio engineer presented a commentary in the last audio episode. I would be more than happy to work with him to get such in a suitable form to be freely posted so that it might be linked to.

Gone
It seems to be gone now, just Hugh Downs and health adverts.

As to it being borked
As far as I can tell, the bibliography is still there. It has moved, though. It seems the content management system LJ uses assigns new URLs when a page is updated or otherwise modified.

Well
Well that does not really seem to be a best practice.Right now it is available from the home page of Library Journal.
Stuff like the dynamic URLs is something librarians frequently don’t do well. Recall if you will the ALA site redesign of a few years ago when they ended up with URLs of 300+ characters.
I think that is wonderful, as that is the kind of stuff that keeps me employed 🙂
A couple of years ago my firm sent me to get my CUA, which I though was just another paper to hang in my cube, but it was really informative- and the test was hard, there was even one person from my firm that failed by two points. She retook it after studying harder and passed, but I have a lot of respect for HFI’s CUA programme. It is not quick, nor cheap – probably about $6K, but when it comes to usability analysis it is a recognized credential.
One of these days when I have some free time I am going to write something substantial about web design for public libraries. Perhaps I’ll start on it as soon as Sabado Gigante is over.

They omitted an important balance
One would hope that LJ would perform some due diligence and see if there was a site to counter librarians against Palin – the free wordpress blog that was active for a week from September 5th until the 12th.
One would hope that they might wish to report on the other side of the coin to maintain some type of journalistic integrity and balance. Simply searching Google for Librarians for Palin would have provided resources that allow readers to make up their own minds.
