Tacoma porn filter a model for libraries

Richard Head writes \”Full story on the manager of Tacoma\’s main library, David Biek, who was called to Philadelphia last week to explain how Webfoot works. By offering free access to sites while blocking pornographic images – and allowing overrides when the browser fails – the Tacoma Public Library\’s system answers most of the practical concerns about filtering.

Tacoma\’s approach seems a reasonable solution for libraries elsewhere in the nation – assuming they are serious about not purveying porn to children

Here\’s A PDF of his COPA (not CIPA) testimony, Policy Statement, A White Paper, and that\’s about all I could find on my first attempt to learn more about WebFoot, from the land of Big Foot.
