If you really want to know where you stand, you have to go outside yourself. This is especially true when we look at the news and how we, as Americans, perceive ourselves vis a vis the rest of humanity. So it’s always interesting to me to see what other countries think of our weirdness.
Take Little Gamers for instance. Here we have a comic strip written and drawn by a pair of Swedish guys about the state of video games and society. Today’s strip talks about the new Michigan state law regarding the sale of video games to minors.
So let’s see what the Swedish thoughts are on the matter.

Actually the player is the antagonist and the pixels we violate, mulitate, spindle, fold, maim, and “kill” in creative ways are the protagonists.
Hmmmmm. Maybe what we need is an anti-discrimination law giving simulants full status as humans and then gamers could be locked up as violent criminals. As a plus, people who scream blue murder about same-sex marriage will have something new to scream about when some bug-eyed supersoldier with a game pad tries to wed Lara Croft.
