Students stage sit-in against Wales library closure

The police were called to a student protest yesterday when dozens of demonstrators entered the vice chancellor’s office and shouted for his dismissal.

Around 14 officers were called to the University of Wales Swansea’s campus management quarters at Abbey Buildings. icwales.icnetwork.co.uk Reports Students ran into Professor Richard Davies’s room, angry over proposals to close the seafront campus’s Natural Sciences Library. Their noisy sit-in lasted for around 40 minutes, before they agreed to leave the building. No arrests were made.
