Stonewall Lib. may move to Broward County Branch

The Reader’s Shop writes “The Miami Herald reports
that, if approved by the County Commission, the nationally recognized library
of gay and lesbian literature will move into a space in the Fort Lauderdale
Branch by year’s end. With a collection of 18,000 books and other collections,
the largest collection about gays and lesbians in the Southeastern United States
the library serves nearly 9,000 visitors each year. The library’s director,
Jack Rutland said they are excited about the move and that the new location
is roomier and busier. County Commissioner John Rodstrom said. “I believe it’s
a very valuable collection and [Sunrise Boulevard] is a great location for it
because the community supports it.”
