thesentinel.co.uk Reports A Ban could be introduced on using internet chatrooms in libraries across Staffordshire amid fears paedophiles are using them to target children. The proposal by Staffordshire County Council comes after complaints children logging onto computers at libraries in Newcastle and Silverdale were being sent obscene messages by adults. East Staffordshire Borough Council has also raised concerns about the vulnerability of youngsters online.
County council officers have proposed four options to deal with the issue, including a chatroom ban for all users.
