Did you even RTFA or just the comments on Fark? Ok yeah the language on myspace — by you seemed to have skimmed past the threatening of students if they reported her as being on myspace (after her school told her to cut that crap out), drug use with students, “at home visits”, alleged dealing of Xanax to a student, and then tried to influence witness testimony. Yes innocent until proven guilty — but the accusations go beyond language on myspace.

thank you for your reply to my article dated January 18 2007. I would like to apologise if my levity towards this serious situation lead you to believe that I was uniformed as to the true facts of the case. I was not in fact trying to make light of the situation, but rather was highlighting the article in a way which I hoped would pique the interest of librarians. That done, i was not seeking to report on the incident, as I am unable to provide any information other that that which is contained within the link which I included.
Your question ass to whether I had even Ready-Team-Fire-Assist is a puzzling one. I am in fact a former member of the Australian Defence Force and as such am familiar with military acronyms (although how you knew this I am unclear). As to providing fire assist prior to posting to LIS news, I am unsure why I would need to do so. Unless however you are suggesting that you are about to initiate a flame war, something which is further suggested by your hostile tone. I hope that this is not the case and that my timely reply has eased your mind as to my intent.

About the Hayes Librarian from WV: here is some information very few are aware of.
1) The inappropriate relationship with boys was her giving them a ride home in the pouring rain after taking them to get food at Taco Bell as they requested. She did this out of simple good heartedness, and never even thought something of this magnitude would come of it.
2) Xanax? Marijuana? The day she was suspended from teaching she was followed home by a WV State Trooper who searched her computer for any inappropriate material and then searched for drugs. NOTHING WAS FOUND because there was nothing to find.
3) The inappropriate language on MySpace was her blogging of her considering suicide during the holidays after her father had suddenly passed away unexpectedly and her younger brother had a wreck and killed an older man.
4) Ever heard the saying “No good deed goes unpunished”? Well this is a statement that certainly holds true in this situation. Someone saw money in this…Carte-Priestley’s mothers car was broken into and a note was left inside that said “families see money in this”. One kids stepmom has recently had a tummy-tuck…interesting hmmmm? I used to believe in justice, but after watching 2 students who skip school, have failing grades often and will do any drug they can find are believed before a woman with a 4.0 GPA who is working on her Masters Degree. Yet, this 36 yr old woman has lost everything and will never be viewed the same in her hometown. This is truly an injustice. Something is wrong with this picture.
