Shri Jambekar no more in the world

Zala Lavjibhai writes “The 2nd day of the first week of this month was very bad for the person who loves books, who loves reading something and who has dedicated their whole lives to the library profession. On 2nd June in the morning my boss Mr. Shailesh Yagnik just picked up a receiver and the sadness has been covered on his face. Someone has conveyed bad news that Shri Jambekar was no more in the world.

On 2nd June in the morning my boss Mr. Shailesh Yagnik just picked up a receiver and the sadness has been covered on his face. Someone has conveyed bad news that Shri Jambekar was no more in the world. With lots of grieves he put the receiver and conveyed evil news to our staff members. We had not confidence at our ears what we have heard for the GURU of Librarianship in Management. I am very unlucky man in library profession because till death of Shri Jambekar Saheb I have nor seen his face. Once I told my Boss that I had wanted to see Jambekar Saheb, he promised me but before completed my dream to meet the great person he had passed away from this beloved world. He served to the library users till his last breath. He had left his last breath between the intellectual properties and information resources. He put the IIMA library at the international level. by using information technology and effective service to its users. The library and Infornation Science discipline in Gujarat, NICMAN, MANLIBNET and IIMA have lost the great library personality in management which can not be fulfilled by any cost. He has authored/co-authored eight books and presented 25 papers during his lifetime journey in LIS. At last but not least the hearts of thousands of library personnels speak “Sir you are not dead but we have seen the nightmare only. We never forget you till we are alive.”

May God give peace to his soul where he is now. Heartily pray to almighty to give strength to his family to bear this irreparable lose.
