Salinas libraries assured of money

The impetus for passing Measure V in Salinas last November started with the threat of library closures, but the general sales tax was also meant for virtually all city services.
The process of deciding how to spend the revenue has begun, with nine city departments, including the library, lining up for funding.
At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, four agencies requested a total of about $4.4 million from Measure V. More are scheduled to make their cases in future meetings.
