S & S Launches Web Site for School, Public Librarians

Simon & Schuster has launched a new Web site packed with resources to help public and school librarians better serve their patrons and students.

The site, which supplements the publisher’s main site, offers librarians instructional materials, including curriculum and reading group guides, activity sheets, themed book collections for historical events and holidays, and behind-the-book essays.

Why create a site just for librarians and educators? Prior to the relaunch of SimonandSchuster.com earlier this year, the educators and librarian portion of the site were one the most heavily trafficked with the most usage and interaction, explains Paul Crichton, the company’s director of publicity, adding that the publisher is putting a strong focus its digital efforts, with a user-friendly site catered specifically to educators and librarians as a top priority.
