digijen writes to tell us of a new restaurant on the south side of Pittsburgh called The Library.
“Executive chef Steve Harlow created an ‘American eclectic’ menu, which features creatively dubbed cuisine such as meat dish ‘The Slaughterhouse Five Minus Two,’ cheese plate ‘Of Mice and Men’ and a pasta entree named after Hunter S. Thompson.”
There’s a website which is just a nicely designed splash page at this point, but it looks like a fun place to be. Is ALA going to Pittsburgh any time soon?
[Update: I missed the link to the menu on my first viewing of the website.]
Is ALA going to Pittsburgh?
No, but it will be in Philadelphia for next MidWinter. Road Trip!
Re:Is ALA going to Pittsburgh?
It’s a long way from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, or vice versa: over 300 miles. And since the most direct highway route is the Pa. Turnpike, it’s somewhat expensive, too.
Not that it’s not worth the trip — “the ‘Burgh” is my hometown and a beautiful place. It’s just not all that handy to Philly.
More than one Library
My sister worked at a restaurant/bar near a big college that was also called The Library. That way students could say they were going to the library and tell the truth.
