Punk Richard Hell Gives Papers to NYU

Early punk performer Richard Hell, former member of Television and the Voidoids and New York poet and scenester, has found a home for his papers at New York University’s Fales Library. The library is building a collection of materials documenting the downtown NY art scene of the 1970s and 80s. Hell, 54, has been collecting and archiving his materials since an early age saying, “I assume that’s what you do, save things.” Included in the collection are letters, lyrics, posters, set lists and erotic drawings. More from the NY Times.
