Pogue Not a Nook Fan

David Pogue in Personal Tech/NYT has a less than positive review of that elusive ebook reader, the Nook.

Among other complaints, the color touch screen, a horizontal strip beneath the regular gray screen, is slow to respond. And books are cheaper at Amazon. And so on.

And the promise that you can “Read entire e-books for free at your local Barnes & Noble?”

Pogue writes, “Maybe, if you’re Evelyn Wood; you can read a certain book for only one hour a day. And that’s if the publisher has approved it. This feature isn’t ready yet; it won’t be available until next year.”
